Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade was founded in 1993 with the purpose of fostering, promoting and celebrating the cultural and historical contribution of Irish and Irish-American individuals within Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
In 2015 the committee introduced the Bay Ridge St. Patrick Parade Education Fund to support local Catholic Education. The program offers merit-based awards to recognize the personal and educational achievements, along with participation in community-related service activities of 8th grade students currently attending the five local Catholic Academies with plans to attend a Catholic High School in the Fall.
After promoting the Education Fund throughout the past three parade seasons, we have been able to garner matching funds as well. Each year as a result, two students chosen by their respective school received the $1,000 grant.
Over the past three years we have been so blessed to have been able to award 30 students with over $30,000! We thank all our supporters and especially our matching donors!
